As marketeer and editor I spent hourestime behind your computer-screen. Your eyes have to suffer a lot. So sooner or later you will notice! So are you just as me spending houres and hours and more hours behind your computer screen or tablet? I have some great tips for you to avoid Eye Strains and Back Problems after own bad experiences.

Eyestrain
You can NO ...will get from intens focusing on one point. Reading small fonts, focusing on a small screen. Your eyes get tired. Need a rest and than and focus on other parts. Do take breaks. Give your eyes a rest! (Set an alarm clock every two hours or sooner) Going to the toilet? Don't take your laptop there! Just change your focus and close your eyes a few minutes. This will allow the eyes to rest for few minutes and avoids eyestrain.

Lighting:
Lighting is very important. You can dim your screen. Better than too bright. But always read or work in a place with enough lighting. Avoid working in dark and dim rooms. Table lamps are better than overhead lights. So adjust the television and computer monitor’s brightness to suit the lighting in the room.

Blink MORE:
Blink regularly to avoid strain.
Computer users stare at a computer screen and blinking rate is one third of a normal person.

Eye yoga:
Eye yoga exercise to relief the strain and keep the muscles of your eyes healthy. Look up 3 sec. and down 3 sec. and than left right diagonal and crossed (look at your nose). Turn your eyes open en closed reguarly. Than focus on a small point far away for some time and than look at something up close. These exersices are very good and can reduce the need of stronger reading glasses while getting older.

Hydrate eyes:
Eyes should not be allowed to dehydrate. Wash the eyes with cold water often. Use a briny eye drops to avoid dry and itchy eyes.

Monitor Position:
Place monitor in correct position forbody, arms and eye sight: The monitor of the computer should be adjusted such that it is at a height just below eye level. This will help eyes to look at the screen easily without much strain. The monitor should also be at an arm’s distance from your eyes to avoid glare from the screen.

Laptop in bed:
Laying in bed DO NOT cross your legs to uplift the laptop like that. While focused on your subject you'll miss the pain warnings and can get serious back problems! So never cross your legs too long to bring a laptop in a good position/

Chair Position:
Very important your back is streight and your arms fingers are in a rest position to work

Care for your eyes:
Do not rub the eyes vigorously. By doing so you may break blood vessels. Close the eyes tightly for 5 seconds and turn them xtrm around. Repeat this for 5 to 6 times. Care for the eyes because it is tough to get a spare.

Best size computerscreen:
Better bigger than smaller ideal for laptop is 17 to 19 inches.
The larger the better for your eyes.

Intake Vitamin rich foods:
Vitamins help the eyes to stay healthy for a longer time. Vitamin A, E and C are most important for healthy eyes. The cataracts formation is prevented by these vitamins.
Vitamin A prevents night blindness while Vitamin C protects eye from alleviate glaucoma.

Use anti-glare screens:
Have windows covered with curtains to avoid reflection in the monitor. This will reduce the strain in the eyes. Avoid using florescent lamps in the computer room. If the computer is used at nights, then use table lamps. Make those lamps to face the keyboard and place them on your left.

Nieuwjaarsreceptie 2012 met Zandvoortse Politici en ondernemers.

Jan van der Meer o.a. producent van @ZandvoortTV en vele succesvolle Zandvoort promo videoclips

ontvouwde tijdens nieuwjaarsborrel in gebouw de Krocht (6 jan.) zijn 2012 video-productie plannen
aan o.a. Directie VVV Lana Lemmens en vele aanwezige Facebook en Twittervrienden.
Hilly Jansen was erg tevreden over de Social Media cursus die ze tijdens de 50+ dag bij Jan volgde.

Goede YouTube videoclips scoren beter dan ooit en zijn ideaal om grote sponsors, klanten, touristen,

en ook kiezers aan te trekken! Dat vond ook de Burgemeester en VVD wethouder Belinda Göransson!

Ben Zonneveld wil dan ook graag promoclips voor en van de komende Olympia's wieler Tour 2012

die start in mei en zo'n aparte promoclip kan Zandvoort dus héél veel meer opleveren.

Peter van Kessel wil voor zijn nieuwe 2012 zomerhit met oa Johnny Kraaijkamp
een betere meer succesvolle videoclip dan de vorige.

Individuele evenementen en promo activiteiten van de diverse strandpaviljoens zouden ook regelmatig

collectief op ZandvoortTV en YouTube getoond moeten worden. Jan heeft er vele gefilmd en kan een

succesvolle compilatie produceren.

Ook de bijeenkomsten in de raadszaal zouden makkelijk life op ZFM getoond kunnen worden!

En een aparte videopromo om meer Duitse toeristen te trekken zou ook niet gek zijn.

Kortom zat werk voor ideeenman Jan van der Meer al 30 jaar zeer actief aan de Passage.

Ook in 2012 dagelijks op ZFM te zien om 9.50am de promoclips die Jan produceerde

voor VVVZandvoort.

Tot mei 2012 produceert Jan weer als Volunteer Promoclips voor diverse vrijwilligersorganisaties
in Kenya en Uganda en geeft er les in Social Media en Internet Marketing op scholen.

Big attention in PHOTOVISION (Dutch Fotovisie)

Filmen is de passie van
Jan van derMeer.

De videogoeroe deelt zijn enthousiasme graag met anderen.

Hij is adviseur eninstructeur op het gebied van video en richtte 26 jaar geleden Global-DVC op.

Wij gingen in gesprek met de filmmaster

over Skype als marketingtool en spannende
videosafari’s.

Op zijn website beschrijft Jan van der

Meer zichzelf als director video producer,

ondernemer, instructeur, gadgetman

en wildlife photographer. Wie even

verder zoekt op Google ziet dat hij deze

uitspraken meer dan waarmaakt. De

films die hij plaatst op Vimeo trekken

tienduizenden bezoekers. Bijzondere

evenementen en gebeurtenissen in

Zandvoort worden door Van der Meer

vastgelegd en getoond op ZandvoortTV.

Filmen is zijn lust en zijn leven, maar

wanneer Van der Meer anderen kan

meenemen in zijn passie wordt hij pas

echt enthousiast. Toen Sony in 1986 de

eerste kleine camcorder op de markt

bracht, was hij direct bereid zijn kennis

te delen met anderen en richtte hij het

Global DVC (Digital Videographers

Centre) op. De leden van Global-DVC

bestaan uit gevorderde consumenten

(prosumers) en professionals die willen

werken met de nieuwste kleine dslr

camera’s en minicams voor het gemak

of bijvoorbeeld in oorlogsgebieden. Zij

kunnen lezingen volgen, workshops doen

en krijgen advies over videoapparatuur

en accessoires.

Gadgetman

Wanneer je binnenkomt in de showroom

van global-DVC valt de term gadgetman

direct op zijn plaats. Alle accessoires op

het gebied van video van de handige

xShot, een uitschuifbare antennestok

met statiefaansluiting in zakformaat

waarmee je jezelf kunt filmen tot een

radiografisch bestuurbare auto met

statiefaansluiting, zijn hier te vinden. Als

het nog niet bestaat, maakt Van der Meer

het zelf. Hij bouwde een Gorilla Torch

om tot handzame ledlamp die je op elke

camera kunt gebruiken als extra lichtbron.

Een tissue in de lamp zorgt ervoor dat

het licht niet te fel is. Accessoire- en

camerafabrikanten brengen regelmatig

een bezoek aan de showroom om nieuwe

ideeën op te doen. Daarnaast doet Van

der Meer cameratesten en schrijft hij voor

diverse vakbladen op het gebied van

video. “Op dit moment is de Sanyo Xacti

mijn favoriete camera. Hij is zo klein dat

ik hem overal mee naar toe kan nemen

en filmt in verbazingwekkende kwaliteit.

Wanneer ik op reis ga neem ik vaak de

Panasonic GH1 mee. Hiermee heb ik veel

bijzondere opnames gemaakt.”

Skypeals marketingtool

Sinds je ook met een fotocamera kunt

filmen, ontdekken steeds meer fotografen

de kracht van video. “Zelfs met je telefoon

kun je goede films maken”, voegt Van

der Meer toe terwijl hij zijn Nokia 8 te

voorschijn haalt. “Met deze camera heb

ik een aantal filmpjes gemaakt op de

Photokina 2010 waarvan mensen niet

willen geloven dat het met een telefoon is

gemaakt. Het gaat niet om de apparatuur

die is tegenwoordig goed genoeg. Zelfs

zo goed dat je zelfs niet meer hoeft te

fotograferen. Uit een video kun je een

still halen met een resolutie van 1920 x

1080 pixels. Dat is meer dan genoeg voor

de meeste consumenten. Net als in de

fotografie draait het niet om de camera,

maar om de foto- of videograaf. Er is

wel een heel groot verschil tussen het

maken van een foto of het maken van een

film. Fotografen die gaan filmen leggen

zich volledig toe op het vastleggen van

prachtige beelden, maar verliezen vaak

het geluid uit het oog en doen weinig

aan editing. Een filmer is veel meer een

alleskunner en focust zich met name op

het onderwerp. Juist hier liggen de kansen

voor de retailers. Iedere fotograaf die zich

serieus wil bezighouden met video, of

hij nu hobbyist of professional is, heeft

behoefte aan kennis. Deze kennis kun

je aanbieden door middel van lezingen

en workshops, maar wat denk je van het

thuisbezorgen van kennis aan de klant?

Hierbij denk ik aan Skype. Via Skype kun je

aan maximaal tien personen tegelijkertijd

een persoonlijke online workshop geven.

Via de webcam heb je direct contact met

de klanten en kun je ze ook laten zien hoe

de apparatuur werkt. Een groot voordeel

is dat je niet, net als in de winkel, maar

één klant kan helpen, maar wel tien. Wordt

de klant na je uitleg zo enthousiast dat hij

direct iets wil bestellen, kun je dat ook

meteen regelen. Zelf maak ik heel veel

gebruik van Skype als middel om mijn

klanten persoonlijk te adviseren en voor

het geven van online workshops. Een

andere vorm van een online workshop is

een webinar. Ook dit is een prima manier

om je kennis te delen. Wel merk ik dat bij

een webinar veel mensen op het laatste

moment afhaken. Bij een Skype afspraak

gebeurt dit niet vaak.”

Noodzaakvan social media

Internet is op dit moment een zeer

belangrijk medium. Zeker wanneer

het gaat om het delen van filmpjes.

Hoe belangrijk is internet voor de

fotohandelaar? “Internet is niet alleen heel

belangrijk om dingen te delen, maar ook

om kennis te vergaren. Het belangrijkste

daarbij is om goed te kunnen zoeken. Dat

klinkt heel eenvoudig, maar je wilt niet

weten hoeveel mensen nog zoeken op

‘fotocamera’ in plaats van het typenummer

in te tikken. Ook weet men vaak niet dat

je kunt zoeken op gecombineerde termen

wanneer je er quotes omheen zet. Daarom

geef ik ook workshops over het gebruik

van Google. Tijdens deze workshops leer

je niet alleen zoeken, maar leer je ook hoe

je kunt zorgen dat je hoog in de Google

ranking terechtkomt. Want consumenten

moeten je natuurlijk wel kunnen vinden op

het wereld wijde web. Hierbij spelen social

media ook een grote rol. Tegenwoordig

kun je als fotohandel niet meer zonder

social media. Een sociale instelling is

absoluut noodzakelijk voor een retailer.

Als je niet sociaal bent waarom zou je

dan een zaak beginnen? Daarbij moet

je meegaan met de tijd en wanneer je

ziet dat de consument verschuift naar

internet, moet je daar als winkelier op

inspelen. Social media zijn hiervoor de

aangewezen tools. Volgens mij levert het

meer op wanneer je de winkel twee dagen

per week sluit en je die dagen volledig

richt op social media, dan in de winkel te

gaan wachten tot er klanten komen.”

Videosafari’s

Van der Meer is een levensgenieter

die weet wat hij wil. Zijn innovatieve

geest en kracht om kansen te creëren

en te benutten hebben hem al op veel

bijzondere plaatsen in de wereld gebracht.

Tien jaar lang fotografeerde en filmde

hij voor American Express de mooiste

resorts ter wereld. De bijzondere plekken

die hij daarbij ontdekte, deelt hij graag

met anderen tijdens georganiseerde

reizen. “St.Lucia KwaZuluNatal in Zuid

Afrika is de mooiste plek ter wereld.

Daarom organiseer ik daar regelmatig

foto- en videosafari’s. Je kunt er echt

alles vinden dat Zuid Afrika te bieden

heeft van apen, hippo’s, kameleons, de

township, walvissen, dolfijnen tot reuze

schildpadden. Tijdens een 15-daagse

reis leren de deelnemers beter filmen.

’s Avonds worden de films bekeken

en besproken waardoor ze de nieuwe

kennis de volgende dag gelijk in praktijk

kunnen brengen. Daarnaast organiseer

ik ook introductie foto- en videoreizen

met nieuwe camera’s en gadgets. Een

leuk voorbeeld is een lang weekend

waarbij we met de hoge snelheidslijn naar

Marseille gaan. Met dit soort reizen kun

je als fotowinkel de klant echt iets extra’s

bieden.” Winkels die hun klanten graag

een dergelijke reis willen aanbieden, maar

zelf geen tijd hebben voor de organisatie

hiervan kunnen Van der Meer hiervoor

inschakelen.

Eenbetere wereld

Van der Meer zet zijn talent tegenwoordig

ook in voor ontwikkelingswerk. Hij brengt

kinderen in Zuid-Afrika in contact met

onze maatschappij en cultuur door ze

te leren skypen en googlen. “Met het

project SOSchoolkids breng ik een

verbinding tussen Zuid-Afrikaanse en

Westerse scholen tot stand. Door middel

van Skype kunnen de kinderen in Zuid-

Afrika via Skype Engelse lessen volgen

bij bijvoorbeeld een Amerikaanse of

Nederlandse klas. Het project verkeert

nog in een beginfase, maar door de

filmpjes die ik daar heb gemaakt zijn er

al verschillende scholen die mee willen

werken. Op deze manier kan ik met mijn

deskundigheid een steentje bijdragen aan

een betere wereld.”

WEDDING TUTORIALS
In 1990 we started courses Professional Wedding Videography. Problems than are still the same problems now. There are only a few clients in Holland (small country) who appreciate and wanna pay for a real professional good looking cinematographic production. It should cost at least € 4500+. Shot with at least two camera's and perfect sound and great editing not missing the absolute highlights of the day! A wedding video is one of the most complicated productions you can do. A lot of work and editing. Also need to take care that you get your money and the couple isn't divorced when your production is finished (This really happened!) So a good contract is also important. BUT .. nevertheless....some couples still love a video-clip but are willing to pay relatively more for a photographer. BUT guess what: .....TIMES HAVE CHANGED! You film now with 25 or 30 sharp Pictures a second so its easy to select now the best shots for photo's as well! Now we don't use the old videocamera anymore but a DSLR PHOTO-CAMERA like Canon 5D or 7D or Panasonic GH2! My main income used to come from coaching and educating cameramen but even that these days is now for FREE on YouTube. External Microphone via
USB OTG on N8I can confirm that with N8 you can attach any kind mic to 3.5mm TSSR connection. The 3rd band is the mic input and I made a simple TSSR to 2* TSR which second is mic female that merges left/right for mono input at TSSR connection, so I can plug in anykind of mic or headset as a hands free and record audio while recording video. The beautiful is that you can use any kind of pc headset as hands free on car logitech brand headsets and so on. How ever passive mics are too weak so it don't work so good. This is why you need battery operated mic to get full good volume level and sound. This is why people did buy for n95 condenser mics and this is good for N8 too.

My only hope for Nokia is that they would give a mic support in settings so that mic's could be overrided by mono audio input even tho there is no mic plugged or using passive mic like dynamic mic's or head set or similars.

The second feature suggestion for symbian is to have outputted the recording volume from video camera to headphones so you can monitor what you are actually recording. At the moment the phone is dead silent while filming. Why not output sound thrue headphones that is recording at the moment?

I can also say that filming outside with onboard mics are useless. Wind makes huge noises as mics are very sensitives because they need to pick up long distances and this way wind makes so much noise to the phone that the onboard mics are useless. Better would be provide us a good stereo mic input in the phones.

Just to confirm you can get a microphone into a nokia n8/e7. To do this you will need to use a CA-75u which comes with any n series nokia.It is a three way RCA (phono) split giving you a yellow white and red RCA to a 3.5mm (mini) jack.

Once you have your CA-75u you will need to plug your microphone to start with into the red RCA and in the software make sure your default accessory is the headset. Then you plug the mic into the red RCA and then the 3.5mm jack in the top it should ask you which type of connection you want, select headset. Now take the mic and plug it into the into the yellow RCA. Now you can use sound recorder to record from the mic!.

This is obviously a work around and it would be much easier for nokia to produce a microphone interface or even better bring out a usb x/y configuration microphone like the zoom recorders use. Come on nokia give me a new gadget!

Some notes about mics and connections into an RCA.

Electret mini mics should be fine, but I am personally using a lo impedance condenser microphone which has internal power (battery) such as a AKG C1000 or Audio Technika AT33a I myself am using a sennheiser shotgun from the early 90's.

To make the correct connection from an XLR plug to the RCA you will need to create a mono lead the easiest way to do this is to connect the white or cold or pin 3 on the XLR to the screen or pin 1 on the XLR. Then terminate them to to the screen or outer part of the RCA. Then terminate the red or hot or pin two on the XLR to the center of the RCA. Alternatively go to maplins or radio shack and buy one

Q&A FROM A HAPPY JANNOKIA PREDITOR
TO OFFICIALS N8 IMAGING FINLAND

Now I've been playing around with my presample NOKIA N8 for two month! Done this without latest software. But just loaded latest software see list further down. As PREDITOR shot several testclips at IBC Amsterdam and PHOTOKINA Cologne you can see all YOUTUBE results here: and many more from others at special VIMEO NOKIA N8 GROUP

Got some burning questions! And these are answered now by official Helsinki N8 imaging department of Nokia N8 Finland:

Q: The image of the battery shows empty when it is full
A: This is weird and I haven´t seen this before.

Q: At the end of a very long shot to do a time lapse (about 15minutes the complete file dissapeared andthe N8 started rebooting) (about 15minutes the complete file dissapeared and the N8 started rebooting or so)
A: N8 has a 4Gb maximum file size limitatation so in practice if recording 12Mbit/s the max length of one clip is about 48min. Also slow memory cards occasionally might cause some troubles. It´s for best functionality the phone internal memory or fast memory cards should be used.

Q: In Videomode the lens is not autofocussing within 1 meter will there be Ovi apps to fix that?
A: That´s true. N8 is using hyperfocal distance to record in video mode. Things get sharp starting from around 80cm and keep sharp until to infinity. There has been already some hacks in internet to utilize continuous AF in video mode, but we don´t have any official nokia software to do that. Not at present at least.

Q: Is it possible with an app to get manuel exposure in Videomode?
A: Currently this can´t be done. But it´s good to know that exposure is calculated from a relatively small spot in the center of the video frame. This helps you to adjust the exposure while filming (place something bright to the center of the frame to make the exposure to go down and vice versa.)

Nokia N8 Sample Macro lens to get shallow DOF shots using a macro lens. The tripod Nokia Holder was done with the rubber end at a leg of chair. Just waiting for a real holder (like http://www.theglif.com/ for iPhone4)the same for the close-up lens to produce in real Zeiss quality. The one I am using now is not bad and comes from an old Zeiss Photocamera. BUT you can also use reading glasses the stronger the closer you have to focus by pushing the N8 forwards and backwards. Or you can even use the two on top of each other but that will make it too complicated to get together. There are also some to find on Ebay, but dont know if that quality is good enough for you. IN fact some lenses are build upon two lenses so they use a seperate macrolens as part of a wide angle lens. So you have both together for the same price! Search Google and Ebay for macro or close-up lens for mobiles!

I found one at the Photokina 2010 with a nice ringlight and that is very handy if you are working at a close range in macro at 2-3 cm> Is is called LEDLOUPE TRIPLET 10X -21mm MG7802 (Ebay) But in this clip at the end he is showing his genius setup for the 1 million viewer hitclip!

Because my small NOKIA N8 Camera (also smartphone) has fantastic qualities in low light and can record in 720 HD quality and 12 MEGAPIXEL Photo it is such a pity for pro's not having
1 autofocus in videomode in short distances and

2. not a wider angle

3. a clam round the N8 to film and photograph from a smaller tripod

So I started searching the web and found minor quality lenses at Ebay. BUT during my last minutes at PHOTOKINA 2010 discovered a holder clam and a real interesting high quality lens which is really a great joy for professional wide angle and macro shots. So two lenses in one. Now doiing some more testing and show you results soon. Today the Professional Filming Shoot for promo and entirely shot with the Nokia N8 on "The Commuter" in London with Pamela Anderson continues. Me Right Now in Cologne (Köln) at PHOTOKINA.
Did some normally hard to get night shots. Have to say they look really great! Even more on the N8 LCD widescreen. But as Dr. Zeiss said; this is a unique lens even three times higher resolution than in so many professional SLR camera's!!!
The microphones (as always) are still wind sensitive. Still didn't figure out which holes in the N8 body are the mics. I believe there are 2 on each side. Closed them with my fingers and still picks up all the sound! The speaker is underneath the Zeiss lens. In some shots when it was very dark I did put the nightmode function on and didn't notice much more grainy effects so was perfect also! The last street artists playing classical music was the best and sounded great in a hall near the Dome.

It is not a SIN to go to Zandvoort, but Dutch for people who like to visit Zandvoort. Zandvoort has much more to offer beside one of the best and longest beaches in Holland. Some great other local attractions like the Dunes (partly used for Amsterdam drinking water), Game (dears walk throughout Zandvoort at night!), Musea Art and MuSEAum, Shopping centre, Festivals, Casino and of course the world famous Racing Circuit etc.

Zandvoort is one of the most popular beaches in Holland. Close to Amsterdam. This 10 year old boy Remy did win a local music festival. I promised to produce a videoclip. And now Zandvoort Promotion Team (VVV Zandvoort) they loved the clip and did ask us to produce another three this year!

Is he really happy with this EXtreme Orthopedic Protheses for DSLR cameraman (Canon D5, D7). Or better wait (yes) for our wishcam as shown at NAB 2010?

Pitty we have to wait so long (end 2010 begin 2011) but saves us from orthopedic protheses. BUT now another painfull problem occurs. Its our Bud-get. Panasonic GH1 soon less than $1000. WITH CANON 7D (and other small cams)

“This is my first video in Vimeo and in my entire life! I'm a still photographer but I got the Canon 7D and I borrowed an old Steadicam Jr from a friend of mine. Also, is my first time using a video editing software, so I been playing with different things: Slow Motion, grading, sound, text. If you are starting as me in Sony Vegas I recommend this tutorial: http://vimeo.com/2244382 Also thanks to emmagination for help me to balance my Steadicam. I'm having some undesired movements to the sides, I don't know if the problem is related with the balance or I need a lot of practice. I capture the different clips on 24fps and 60fps and I put together, I imagine that I need to do something if I use different fps. I don't know yet. The footage wasn't taken at my house, it was at the Pittock Mansion in Portland Oregon. Hope you like it, and send me your comments, it would be really helpful for me.

Camera: Canon EOS 7D Lenses: Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6. I know I need some prime lenses :-)

"Great first test and Horror sounds Juan! As 'old' Dutch SteadicamJR lover&reseller&heavy-user (btw JR is pronounced as J R not as Junior!) my JR after at least 12 years is still in use! Now with Pana GH1. Never found one better stabilizer. You have to practice a lot. As a cook you must know how to get a fluid steady on a tray while walking to a table. And do not pan too much. Works bad with DSLR's. Just walk slowly like you did and skip ship movements. Also get better room-views by entering from outside roomdoor to inside the room showing the doorpost or wall so sliding from left to right or vv to open the new shot with vertical mask, this will give a great 3D depth effect! A JR is also ideal for more mystic impossible shots: Like camera comes from outside a house and moves streight through an open window following its way through the house. As if from bird perpective eye view you fly into the room. Its done by handing over the steadicamJR to a hidden not showing second JR operator behind a hidden window post. I love those shots. Its done so well with the Big Steadicam in the openingshot from: "Una giornata particulare"

Watch this openingshot by Director Ettore Scola. With Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni. Mr. Garrett Brown got an Oscar ('78) for his Steadicam invention and further development (JR!). He has shot with it on nearly 100 movies!! Filmography. Watch "The Shining" (Garrett here pushed on rollerskates with Big Steadicam behind this boy)

This shot reminds me of my low-angle nice ladies legs shot.
Also quite steady from a small cam on my mini-lamborghini!
May be Mr. Garrett is also working with small HD cams on mini's!

What happened on Marketeres Cruise 2010 was absolutely stunning amazing. We really really loved it! Thanks to our DVC member Isabel Toren we met so many other passionated people. Yesterday been in Epcot Centre from 10am-11pm. #1 attraction: Soarin flying/floating through the air. Feet loose! #2 Test Track test driving in a race car: the fastest attraction in Disney historie! Also Ellen DeGeneres attraction we liked and just as 20 years ago (our last visit here) we loved to see Japanese Sushi Cooks at work and took some great shots with my two smallest camcorders at hand (Panasonic FT1 and Xacti HD2000).

Suffering USA tourists

January 4 2010 After a delay at Schiphol of 3 hours with body checks, shoes on off, luggage taking apart etc, finally a smooth flight to the US! Thousands waiting hours at Washington Airport Dullas, missing flights in getting passed customs/immigration. Many very nervous, older invalid people, crying vomiting children, first classers (even famous Dutch Violin player Orchestra Director Jaap van Zweden in front of us! All had to wait wait. Only 1 supervisor for this hall, not any public facilities, so no toilet etc it was horrid! No joy at all. Missed plain to Orlando and with a clever trick luckyly get the last one that day at 10 pm! Arrived in Celebration village with a Herz rent a car (another cold hour waiting) and in Hotel at 02.15 am on my birthday 5th January! !! BUT what a pleasure to arrive in our big hotelroom. Its like an apartment! All at hand even an internet desk and kitchen! Fantastic makes our day. So now some real good night (daytime sleep). SNORE!

Many thanks to our national and international new Hero: Jasper Schuringa. We certainly can fly safer coming days (we hope). Coming weeks we fly 40-50 hours to and through the USA! Jasper Schuringa and his Partner Lydia Faber have been our Global-DVC members for years now. They own a videoproduction compagny named: "Go with the Flow" and he certainly did 'fly' on his own natural "flow" through this plain, from a far right seat to the far left seat 19A, jumping over the middelseats! Now CNN has the story, but Jasper Schuringa feels quite uncomfortable and looks as if he isn't payed for spending his hollidaytime on these investigations. And this won't be the only one. See this awkward CNN report and see how its ending! (follow search Twitter #flight253 and #schuringa) A big discussion is rising now as networks stand to make far more money in different markets on ad sales than Schuringa ever dreamed of. So hope he gets his cut, it’s his story and he has to give up his vacation now! (Dec.27 Even on Larry King Live now with the Christmas Terror Plot! And no word of Obama yet playing golf in Hawaii )

One of the best Philip Bloom productions to learn from is the highlight in his life at the Skywalker range and meeting Mr. George Lucas!

Every position is perfect. Realize where Philip stands and how you can copy that yourself. Some give comment on his very photographic style and that there is no real storyline. Even his big buddy mr.Zacuto didn't like the typical Philip photoshoot style. After working with a DSLR myself (a Panasonic GH1) I know that the most succesfull shots are the ones with the camera in a fixed position or a very vey slow move/slide (Glidetrack). Quick movements result often in a jitter di jagger tremble: it is inherent to AVCHD in 25P, 50P is better but no FullHD 1920x1080 anymore. Converting clips into interlaced order looks better.

STUDY & TIPS FOR CHROMA KEY EFFECTS

In our Studio at Global-DVC centre Zandvoort our members can test and use a perfect reflecting curtain and ringlight system for Chroma Key productions from Datavideo: BIG advantage: no lighting problems and free choise in blue or green backgrounds. On locations we first take a HD format photo of the background. 'Shop' it if needed and than record the interview in front of this special curtain. In Vegas9 editsystem all get fixed very well! This ringlight fits with 62mm adaptring on my Panasonic Lumix GH1 with the 14-140mm lens. In big Hollywood studio's they often use enormous green walls. Looking at these samples brings me and you on some new ideas for coming stockshots while on nice locations! We produced and sell several stockshots on POND5 from wildlife South Africa and Bali and Borneo.

STUDY 3D AVATAR

During IBC 2009 we saw many samples of 3D with and even without glasses. But so soon after a nearly 3 hour master peace in your theatre! So hurry to AVATAR the 3D movie. A must see! It is a totally new experience. All characters are worked on but look totally acceptable. STUNNING movie. Now soon 3D with Polarized glasses will come in your living room and we want to produce and want nothing else anymore. 3D first appeared in movie theatres back in the 1950s, but 3D was never fully embraced. Red Green and looking cross eyed brrrr. BUT from now on film maker James Cameron says he will never do anything else. And we didn't need any 3D headache pills after! To start yourself with your own next 3D movie project: here a very nice sample how to Photoshop yourself into another AVATAR.
